Viva la Vida Festival & Parade

Día de los Muertos wouldn’t be the same in Austin without Viva la Vida, the city’s largest and longest-running Day of the Dead event. For its 43rd iteration, Mexic-Arte and Austin’s Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment Department set up a day of free, family-friendly festivities at the Fourth & Congress area, starting with a vibrant grand procession at noon and continuing with activities all day. Check out the Education Pavilion for hands-on art activities, tasty treats, vendor booths, a lowrider exhibit, and live performances going until 6pm. – Kat McNevins
