The Recipe Box

Del Shores, the creator of Sordid Lives, comes to Austin Rainbow Theatre to direct the regional premiere of his newest play - only its second production anywhere. Set on a lush Louisiana porch, The Recipe Box follows a guarded math professor whose painful breakup leaves him living with his ex-husband’s sharp-tongued, 70-something mother. Together, they form an unexpected chosen family filled with secrets, laughter, and plenty of Southern dysfunction. Starring acclaimed actor Emerson Collins, this hilarious and heartfelt limited engagement explores heartbreak, healing, and the beautiful chaos of the families we create. Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.. Price: 22.50 - 60.
