Waitress

A dream is a soft place to land. If you can’t find that, maybe a squishy Bass Concert Hall chair will do. For three days, Broadway in Austin brings the 10th anniversary-celebrating, Tony-nominated musical – featuring music and lyrics by Girls5eva star Sara Bareilles – to tell the tale of the waitress and baker who dreams of something beyond her abusive marriage. Diane Paulus directs, with Samantha Lane Scruggs as Jenna, Becky Alex as Dawn, and Hannah-Kathryn Wall as Becky. The Wednesday show will include a cast talk-back. – Charlie Sharpe Runs Oct. 21-23.
